“How do you go from where you are to where you wanna be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal. And you have to be willing to work for it. — Coach Jim Valvano

The 2019 Sport Management H.O.W.L. Summit is the first ever sport management event at North Carolina State University hosted by the NC State Sport Management Club. Focusing on professional development and networking opportunities, this two day summit will introduce sectors of the Sport industry to young professionals who are interested in pursuing a career in Sport. The summit will include a keynote speaker session, a mix and mingle session, and a panel session each day with Collegiate and Professional focuses. This will provide participants with multiple opportunities to connect with different professionals in the sport industry.

H.O.W.L. stands for Hands-On Wolfpack Learning. With this summit, participants will have the chance to network with sport industry professionals and learn new information about the fields that they wish to enter. Over two days of presentations, panels, and mingling events, aspiring Sport Management professionals will leave with additional knowledge about the sport sector and will have a more-defined outlook on their goals.

The NC State Sport Management Club is a student-run organization for students wanting to expand their network and educational opportunities outside of the classroom. The Sport Management H.O.W.L. Summit has been a dream of club members for three years and is finally coming into fruition with the help of Sport Management students and faculty!
